NWHP’s full press release following a press release issued by the Rhyl and St.Asaph Angling Association: “We are very disappointed to have been made aware of this press release by the local Angling Association. We have kept them fully abreast of the proposed scheme for over 2 years having attended meetings on site and having presented to their committee about the benefits of the scheme. We have also been in written correspondence setting out the way in which the scheme has been designed so as to cause no impact on the local environment in anyway, we have also addressed their concerns. I hope that this article by Natalie Withenshaw bodes well for hydropower in Wales. We would certainly be in favour of a NRW that supports the economy and resilience against climate change. The environment and natural resource management can play a crucial part in tackling the economic, social and environmental challenges that face Wales. This is according to Peter Matthews, Chairman of the new organisation Natural Resources Wales, which became operational on the 1st April 2013. We are pleased to welcome Alasdair Barne to the development team at North Wales Hydro Power. Alasdair recently passed his APC exams and is a chartered surveyor having completed his training with Balfours in Shropshire. Alasdair will add extra resource to the site acquisition and development side of the business as well as assisting in the development of sites on behalf of our clients.

Award Success!!

North Wales Hydro Power are thrilled to win The Business Start-Up Award in the Achievement Wales Awards at Venue Cymru on Friday Night. It shows how far we have come over the last year given that we didn’t make the shortlist last year. It is a great end to the year and we look forward to further success next year as we start constructing our first schemes. This recent success follows Richard being awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Free 2 Network Awards in October.

New Office in Shropshire

North Wales Hydro Power have recently opened a new office at the Rural Enterprise Centre on the Battlefield Industrial Estate. The office acts as a convenient strategic  base and it is easy to get to the sites from here using the A5. Office 17 has sufficient space for 5 people and is therefore well equipped for the future growth of the company. Richard works between his home in Abergele and the Shrewsbury office and Ben is in the Shrewsbury office on a full time basis.
